Bison Tacos on The Green

Meet us at The Green Saturday, Nov. 9 for a ribbon cutting and pasture-to-plate taste of the prairie.

The party is a fundraiser for The Green and  The Bank, which needs roof and floor repairs to reopen as an art and welcome center for Byway travelers and Flint Hills tourists. Admission is free; any donations will be generously matched by our friends at Emporia Community Foundation

The Green is a park, accessible restroom and bicycle support station on Flint Hills Scenic Byway (KS-177) at Bocook Street in Matfield Green, owned and maintained by Matfield Green Works nonprofit and open to the public.

From noon to 2 p.m. Saturday Nov. 9th, we will have Bison Barbacoa Tacos by Zack Bell of Strong City, made with meat from his Chase County herd. A large plate with all the fixing costs $12 (cash or check). The food will be across the street at The Bank. We’ll have a few tables and chairs inside and plenty of outdoor seating.

See you on The Green!
